Welcome all new Mini Football players and families. Welcome Back to all returning players and their supporters.
I am Jaki Lee and I will be the 2010 Mini Football coordinator. I thought I should get some information out to you in regards to the first day of the football season so you’re all prepped and ready to go.
Our first day for Mini Football is April 24th. We will begin at 8:00 which is half an hour earlier than our normal time.
The children will gather together outside the club rooms where they will need to listen carefully for their names as the coaches read them out. The coaches will then gather their team together, hand out their uniforms, and other general housekeeping. Coaches may then decide to have a friendly game against another team if they choose to. The following weekend will be the start of the competition.
Mini Football is an introduction to football for these children and as such the rules are few and the children are expected to have some fun with the ball. The emphasis is on involving the children rather than finding the next Winton Rufer.
We begin normally at 8:30 with half an hour of skill practice for the team with games beginning at 9.00am
Papamoa Mini Football players wear sand shoes at this level. Football boots ( including plastic moulded sprigs) are not accepted until 8th grade
I look forward to seeing you all bright and early on the 24th April at 8:00.
Jaki Lee
